On June 9th, 2009 Governor M. Jodi Rell signed into law Senate Bill 301 (An Act Concerning Health Insurance for Autism Spectrum Disorders) to the cheers of families and caregivers throughout Connecticut. Most people have heard that it covers up to $50,000 of therapy per year, but as with any new law it can be hard to find out the specific details of what is covered and what isn't. Couple that with insurance providers and there can be a lot of red tape and misinformation.

Innovative Autism Network had signed on with several providers prior to the bill becoming effective in January 2010. Since that time we have been able to navigate these insurance issues and can give our families concrete information on eligibility, benefits, coverage and much more. We also have one of the first insurance claims representatives that has been working with our contracted insurance companies since day one for the specific therapies we provide. Our staff can sit down with parents and go over their specific insurance and then deal with the insurance companies directly for approval of services.

Currently IAN is an authorized provider for the following insurance companies:

•Aetna • Cigna • TriCare • ConnectiCare • Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield
